A laser treatment for larger body areas — back, arms, underarms, legs — aimed at evening out patchy discolouration from friction, ingrown hair or sun exposure, not at changing your natural skin tone.
This is a laser treatment for larger body areas — underarms, back, inner thighs, elbows and knees — targeting patchy discolouration from friction, ingrown hair, folliculitis or sun exposure. It is not designed to change your overall skin tone, and we will not position it that way.
Skin on the body darkens unevenly for practical reasons: friction from clothing, repeated shaving or waxing, ingrown hairs, or years of sun exposure on areas that see it unevenly. The laser targets that localised pigment, evening the patch out against the surrounding skin, rather than lightening skin as a whole.
This is a different treatment from our Pico Laser page, which is a face-focused toning protocol for pigment and overall clarity. This one is built for larger body areas and coarser, more textured skin, and the settings, pass count and spacing are set differently as a result.
The laser targets melanin concentrated in the discoloured patch, leaving the surrounding skin largely unaffected.
Body skin is thicker and often more textured than facial skin, so pass count, spacing and cooling are set differently from a facial laser protocol.
Pigment clears gradually with the body's own processes, which is why this is planned as a spaced course rather than a single pass.
Assessed, planned and supervised in clinic — never sold from a menu.
Aimed at localised discolouration, not at lightening skin overall.
Settings adjusted for thicker, coarser skin on larger areas, not a facial protocol run on the body.
Melanin-rich and reactive skin is tested before a full course begins.
Most sessions are done within forty-five minutes, depending on the area.
Spaced and reviewed against how the area actually responds.
This treats localised patches — it will not change your overall complexion, and we will not imply that it can.
Skin renewal — results shown are from Dermatonik's skin-renewal protocols and may reflect a combination of treatments.
Photographs shared with patient consent. Individual results vary; your clinician will set honest expectations at consultation.
Dr. Saeema Shiraaz examines the area, establishes what is driving the discolouration — friction, ingrown hair, sun exposure — and confirms your skin is suitable before any laser pass.
What is appropriate, in what order, and what it will cost is set out before anything begins. You will be told plainly if something is not going to help you.
The area is cleansed and cooled, then treated in passes calibrated to the region. You may feel warmth or mild snapping sensations during the session.
Aftercare is explained before you leave, and we review how your skin has responded before deciding the next step.

Dr. Saeema Shiraaz — cosmetologist, and the reason patients stay. Every treatment plan at Dermatonik is built around her judgement, not a sales target.
Every protocol is planned and supervised by Dr. Saeema Shiraaz — no junior staff experimenting on your skin.
We recommend what works for your skin, not whatever's trending — and we'll say so if a treatment isn't right for you.
Honest timelines, real costs, and no pressure to buy packages you don't need.
I was clear I didn't want to look lighter overall, just even. They were upfront that's exactly what this does and doesn't do.

How we work
What patients usually ask before their first visit.
No, and we would not offer it on that basis. It targets localised patches of discolouration — friction marks, ingrown-hair darkening, sun-exposed patches — and evens them against the surrounding skin, rather than changing your natural tone.
Pico Laser on our site is a face-focused toning protocol. This treatment is built specifically for larger body areas with thicker, more textured skin, using different settings and pass patterns.
Underarms, back, inner thighs, elbows, knees and similar areas prone to friction or sun-related patchiness. Facial concerns are better assessed under our Pico Laser or Chemical Peels pages.
Usually a spaced course reviewed as the area responds, similar in principle to our facial toning protocols but planned separately for body skin.
Yes, when the settings and spacing are chosen for melanin-rich skin and patch-tested first — the same caution we apply across every pigment-targeting laser treatment here.
Active infection or broken skin in the area, recent significant sun exposure or tanning, and certain medications that increase photosensitivity. We will review this before starting.
Tell us a little about what you'd like to address. Dr. Saeema Shiraaz will review your message and the team will confirm a time that works for you.
