A warming mask to soften and prep the skin, followed by a cooling mask to calm it back down — a two-phase facial many patients use to reset dull, congested skin.
The first phase is a warming mask that increases circulation and softens the skin, making extraction and the products that follow more effective. The second is a cooling mask that calms redness and tightens the appearance of pores.
The sequence is the point. Warmth first opens things up — circulation increases, pores soften, and the skin becomes more receptive to whatever comes next. Cold afterwards does the opposite job: it calms the flush the warm phase creates and leaves skin looking noticeably brighter and less puffy by the end of the appointment.
It is well tolerated by most skin types, though the warming phase is adjusted or skipped for skin that is already reactive or inflamed. If your skin flushes easily or you have rosacea-type sensitivity, tell us at booking so the strength of the warm phase can be set appropriately.
Blood flow to the skin increases, which softens congestion and improves how well the following steps are absorbed.
Cooling narrows blood vessels near the surface, which is what calms the flush and tightens the look of pores.
Neither phase alone does what the sequence does together — it is the shift between the two that patients notice most.
Assessed, planned and supervised in clinic — never sold from a menu.
Warm then cool, not one temperature the whole way through.
The warm phase preps skin so the cooling mask and products that follow work better.
Many patients notice their skin looks fresher and less puffy by the end of the appointment.
The warm phase is toned down or skipped for reactive or rosacea-prone skin.
Some flushing that settles within an hour or two, and nothing that stops you going straight back to your day.
We will tell you plainly if your skin needs a different treatment more than it needs this one.
Skin renewal — results shown are from Dermatonik's skin-renewal protocols and may reflect a combination of treatments.
Photographs shared with patient consent. Individual results vary; your clinician will set honest expectations at consultation.
Dr. Saeema Shiraaz or your therapist checks your skin for sensitivity and congestion, and decides how strong the warm phase should be — or whether it should be skipped.
What is appropriate, in what order, and what it will cost is set out before anything begins. You will be told plainly if something is not going to help you.
Cleansing, then the warming mask, followed by extraction if needed, then the cooling mask. You will feel warmth building and then a distinct cooling shift as the second mask goes on.
Aftercare is explained before you leave, and we review how your skin has responded before deciding the next step.

The cold mask at the end is the part people don't expect. My skin looked noticeably calmer walking out than it did walking in.

How patients describe it
What patients usually ask before their first visit.
The warm phase is a comfortable warmth, not heat, and is adjusted for sensitive skin. The cooling mask feels refreshing rather than uncomfortable — most patients enjoy the contrast.
Often yes, with the warm phase reduced or skipped. Tell us at booking if your skin flushes easily and we will plan the strength accordingly.
The Premium Facial is a longer, hands-on facial built around cleanse, extraction and massage. Fire & Ice is built specifically around the warm-then-cool contrast and its effect on tone and calm — the two can be combined into a routine or used separately.
Many patients do, though we would rather set expectations honestly than promise a specific look by a specific date — your skin's response varies, and we will tell you what to expect at assessment.
Sun protection as usual, and avoid other active treatments on the same skin for a day or two. Full aftercare is explained before you leave.
Active infection, open breakouts across a wide area, or skin currently reacting to another treatment. Tell us what else you have had recently.
Tell us a little about what you'd like to address. Dr. Saeema Shiraaz will review your message and the team will confirm a time that works for you.
