What Is HIFU

A facelift's results, without the facelift.

HIFU — High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound — uses focused sound-wave energy to heat the deep structural layer of the skin, the SMAS layer, which is the same tissue a surgeon tightens during a facelift.

Because the energy is focused below the surface, the skin itself isn't broken or damaged — only the targeted layer beneath it is heated to a precise temperature.
